Food Sensitivities and related diseases affect at least 100 million people worldwide and cause a wide variety of illnesses ranging from skin rashes and headaches to chronic intestinal diseases.

Unbalanced or inadequate diets, enzyme deficiencies, stress, genetic predisposition, infections and inflammation, chemicals, drugs, environmental pollutants and toxins are all possible contributing factors in the development of food sensitivities.

Research has shown that these factors may weaken both digestion as well as the protective defences in our intestinal tract allowing for allergens to more easily confront our overwhelmed immune system.

An IgG antibody reaction to a food is a delayed reaction (anywhere from several hours to days) – read my earlier post to learn more about these reactions. Research has indicated that IgG antibodies produced in the blood against particular foods may promote certain inflammatory reactions within the body.

Testing for Complement (C3d) is a direct measurement of inflammation in the body – and is therefore a very important inclusion for any food inflammation test. With this test, activation of Complement alongside high production of IgG antibodies makes it very clear as to what foods will need to be eliminated from your diet.

Please note, when comparing to other tests, there is no evidence that hair analysis can detect food sensitivities. Several studies confirm that results are unreliable. Skin-Prick Tests: Accurate for allergies, but cannot identify IgG food intolerance as this test can.

Stephen Ward Headshot ImageHi, I’m Stephen Ward (MSc) from Fairfield Nutrition.

The KBMO food sensitivity tests is a simple ‘blood spot’ test you can do at home. The test kit is posted to your address; The kit includes a reply paid envelope for you to return the completed sample. It’s a simple process..

We offer the test along with a 1 hour consult to discuss your results, what they mean, and a plan to reduce your food sensitivities by improving your gut health. The intention is that you won’t need to avoid the identified foods forever. Food sensitivities will improve when you work on reducing gut inflammation and ‘leaky gut‘.

Prices include a 1 hour consultation with myself to go over your results and offer nutrition and lifestyle advice

Once paid, the test kit will be sent through the post to your address. The blood spot test can be completed at home and returned in the postage paid envelope.
