What is the GI360 stool test?

GI360™ by Doctor’s Data is a stool test combining several laboratory methods to report selected microbial and gastrointestinal findings. The panel uses molecular methods, traditional culture and microscopy to assess different aspects of stool microbiology.

These methods complement each other: DNA-based testing looks for selected microbial targets, while culture and microscopy provide other types of laboratory findings. No single test can explain every cause of digestive symptoms.

The kit is shipped to you in Australia; laboratory analysis takes place in the United States.

What does GI360 measure?

Bacteria and other microorganisms

Selected bacterial organisms and microbial patterns are investigated through the methods included in the GI360 panel.

Parasites, yeasts and fungi

Microbiology testing can report selected parasites and fungal or yeast findings, according to the current laboratory panel.

Digestive and intestinal markers

Depending on the panel, reported measurements may include pancreatic elastase, calprotectin, secretory IgA and stool chemistry measures.

Who might consider GI360 testing?

GI360 may be considered when digestive concerns are persistent or recurring and a practitioner believes broader stool microbiology information may be helpful. Relevant concerns can include altered bowel habits, abdominal discomfort, bloating or questions about specific gastrointestinal organisms.

It is not necessarily the first or most appropriate investigation. Medical assessment and conventional testing may be more important, particularly for blood in stool, unexplained weight loss, worsening pain or other concerning symptoms. A microbiome result alone does not diagnose IBS or explain the cause of symptoms.

Frequently asked questions

How is GI360 different from a GI Map test?

Doctor’s Data GI360 combines molecular testing with culture and microscopy. Other stool tests use different laboratory methods and marker panels. The most appropriate option depends on your question; one test is not necessarily better for everyone.

What is included in the GI360 package?

It includes the kit, shipping within Australia and prepaid return arrangements, laboratory testing and report, and Fairfield Nutrition’s personalised written interpretation. An optional 30-minute consultation is available separately.

Are H. pylori and zonulin included?

No. These are optional add-ons, available separately through the shop.

Where is the laboratory?

Doctor’s Data performs the analysis in the USA. The kit is available to customers throughout Australia.

How long do results take?

The laboratory estimates 21–28 business days after receiving the sample, plus shipping and written-review time.

Can results diagnose the cause of my symptoms?

Not on their own. Stool test results should be interpreted alongside medical history, symptoms and any conventional investigations that may be indicated.
